Delete your FinTrack account
We will respond to every request within 30 calendar days. We never ask for your password.
Option 1 — delete inside the app
This is the quickest way, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open FinTrack and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account. You can export your data first.
- Enter your password and type the confirmation word.
Option 2 — ask us by email
Use this if you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or forgot your password.
- Email ibrahimaejaz@gmail.com from the address your FinTrack account is registered to, with the subject FinTrack account deletion request. There is nothing else to include.
- We reply to that registered address and ask you to confirm the request. This is how we check the account is yours. We will never ask for your password, and you should never send it.
- Once you confirm, we delete the account and everything listed below, and tell you when it is done.
If we cannot match your email to an account, we will tell you so.
What is deleted
- Your account and email address, and your password hash.
- All your transactions, including any you had already deleted in the app.
- Your audit records, including the chat messages you sent.
- Your sign-in sessions and the records that let the app retry requests safely.
Voice recordings are never stored, so there is nothing to delete.
What is kept, and for how long
- A record of your deletion request: the date, our reference number, and a one-way hash of your email address (not the address itself), kept for up to 12 months to show that the request was handled.
- The emails you exchanged with us about the request, kept for up to 12 months after we finish.
- Crash reports held by Sentry, if crash reporting was on. They are not linked to your account, so we cannot single them out; they expire under Sentry's own retention period.
- Database recovery history: Deleted data may remain in our database provider's recovery history for up to 6 hours before it is removed for good.
If you want less than everything gone
You can delete individual transactions in the app, switch off crash reports in Settings, or export your data first from Settings → Export my data. See the privacy policy for how long each kind of data is kept.
